Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to some of the most common questions we get asked. If you have a question about booking or hiring DBL Entertainment for your next event or party then look no further.

How much do you charge?

Price does depend on a few different variables as follows; location of the event, playing times, size of the venue, equipment used and also an understanding of your requirements and expectations for your party or event. If you are looking for an accurate cost for your wedding, party or corporate event then use our DJ quote form and provide us with as much information about your requirements as possible.

How long will it take to set up the DJ equipment?

For most functions and events, the equipment takes around 1 hour to set up, however as not all venues are the same on occasion the setup maybe a little longer than anticipated. We always give you an indication of how long equipment will take to set up upon the point of quoting an event and try to arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the agreed access time on the day of the event.

How much space does your DJ equipment require?

For most events or functions the space required is around 3m (width) x 2m (depth) of floor space, this space will fit a DJ booth and speaker system comfortably. If we are in a larger space or on a stage we try to fill the space to not only allow sound to travel better in the room but also fill out the area so it does not look too empty.

Do you take music requests?

We are more than happy to accept music or song requests either in advance or on the night of the event. If a playlist is submitted in advance then we will use this as a guide to cherry-pick from in order to keep people on the dancefloor as much as possible.

Do you offer any other services for events you DJ at?

Yes, we do offer different levels to enhance the evening further such as adding on additional venue up-lighting to the room and also star cloth backdrops which can be added on top of the normal DJ service.

We also often get asked if we provide the use of wireless microphones and PAs for announcements and speeches and the answer to this question is yes. However, this is never as straightforward as it sounds so if you are looking to add this service to a quote then best to get in touch with your requirements.

How do you define your DJ style and ensure the music is right for my event?

On your event, party or wedding we take great care in order to provide a professional non-cheesy approach to the evening. This means your DJ has the ability to provide just the right amount of talk needed to either encourage guests to ask for requests or to handle any announcements required and not to provide any unnecessary talking or chat. Also, your DJ will have the ability to mix and transition seamlessly between music genres and at the same time read the room to ensure there is something for everyone and keep you and your guests on the dancefloor all night long.

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes, our PLI provides cover of up to £2 million and documentation is available upon request.

Is your equipment pat tested?

Yes, our equipment is PAT tested every year for electrical safety documentation is available upon request.
